It was an inspiring day at Forteland School as pupils took part in a thrilling Coding Competition organized in partnership with Kidz Tech Coding Club. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as young learners showcased their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through the world of coding.
Showcasing Talent Through Scratch 💻✨
The competition was centered around the popular Scratch app, a beginner-friendly programming tool that allows children to bring their ideas to life through storytelling, animations, and interactive projects.
Over 20 enthusiastic participants worked tirelessly to design their own projects, telling unique stories and presenting innovative solutions through code. From colourful animations to interactive games, the pupils impressed everyone with their creativity and technical skill.
Beyond Coding: Skills That Matter 🌍
While the competition focused on coding, it was clear that the children gained so much more. Each project highlighted important 21st-century skills such as:
- Storytelling – weaving imagination into code
- Teamwork – working together to achieve a common goal
- Problem-solving – finding creative solutions when faced with challenges
- Communication – confidently presenting ideas to their peers and judges

After much excitement and impressive presentations, a team of three pupils emerged as the overall winners of the competition! Their project stood out for its creativity, execution, and teamwork.
But in truth, every child who participated was a winner — gaining valuable experience, confidence, and the joy of building something from scratch (literally!).
