Online Coding Classes for Kids in Nigeria — One-on-One, Live, Ages 5–18

Kidz Tech Coding Club is an online coding school for children and teenagers aged 5 to 18. We have been teaching since 2020 and have taught over 400 children across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and Portugal.

Our main programme is one-on-one: one tutor, one child, live, twice every week. Monthly tuition starts at ₦50,000. Every new family can book a free trial class before enrolling.

One-on-one every week, not a group of eight

Most online coding schools in Nigeria teach in small groups of six to eight children, week in and week out. Kidz Tech’s regular weekly programme is private tuition.

Your child is never waiting for classmates to catch up, never rushed past a concept they haven’t grasped, and never one of eight faces competing for a tutor’s attention. Lessons move at your child’s pace, and the curriculum is adjusted to the individual learner. The same tutor stays with your child throughout the programme.

We do run small-group sessions, but only as Weekend and Holiday Camps — short, collaborative, project-based intensives. The week-to-week teaching that actually builds a child’s skill is always one-to-one.

How the one-on-one classes work

  • Format: Live, interactive, private online sessions with a dedicated tutor
  • Frequency: Twice per week
  • Class length: 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes, or 2 hours — you choose
  • Ages: 5 to 18
  • Scheduling: Flexible — built around your family’s timetable, including weekends and after school hours, in your own time zone
  • Platform: Google Meet, plus a dedicated Google Classroom for each student holding resources, assignments and project work
  • What your child needs: A laptop or computer with a webcam, an external mouse, and a stable internet connection. A headset or earphones helps with background noise. All software used in class is free.

What your child will learn

The Kidz Tech curriculum runs across twelve courses, taken in sequence so each one builds on the last:

  1. Introduction to Computer Science — how computers and the internet actually work
  2. Introduction to Coding — the core ideas behind every programming language
  3. Scratch Programming — visual, block-based coding; the usual starting point for younger children
  4. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence — what AI is, how it learns, how to use it responsibly
  5. Graphic Design — digital design fundamentals
  6. Game Development — designing and building playable games
  7. Mobile App Development — building working apps
  8. Website Development — HTML, CSS and building real sites
  9. Python Programming — text-based coding in one of the world’s most-used languages
  10. Digital Literacy & Online Safety — staying safe and thinking critically online
  11. Machine Learning — training models and understanding how prediction works
  12. Robotics — programming physical and simulated robots

Complete beginners start at Course 1. Children who already have coding experience get a free assessment and are placed at the right point in the pathway, so nobody repeats what they already know.

Every course is project-based. Your child finishes each one having built something they can show you.

For Nigerian families abroad

A large share of our students are children of Nigerian parents living in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Portugal.

Because classes are one-on-one and scheduled individually, time zones are not an obstacle — we build the timetable around your local evening or weekend, not around a fixed group slot. Tuition is billed in naira, which for most diaspora families sits well below the local cost of private tuition in their country of residence.

Progress reporting

Parents receive a written progress report every month covering what was taught, how the child performed, where they improved and what needs more practice.

Tutors follow an approved curriculum and are held to documented teaching standards, so the experience stays consistent regardless of which tutor your child is assigned.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new family can book a free trial class before enrolling, with no payment and no commitment. You can book it directly online.

What age can my child start coding?

Children can start with Kidz Tech from age 5. Younger children begin with Scratch, a visual block-based language where they drag and drop blocks instead of typing code. Teenagers up to 18 can start further along the pathway depending on their experience.

Are Kidz Tech classes one-on-one or group classes?

The regular weekly programme is one-on-one — one tutor, one child. Small-group sessions are offered only as Weekend and Holiday Camps.

How much do online coding classes for kids cost in Nigeria?

Kidz Tech tuition is ₦50,000 per month for two one-hour classes per week, ₦75,000 per month for two 90-minute classes, and ₦100,000 per month for two two-hour classes. All packages are one-on-one. Every additional sibling gets ₦5,000 off their monthly package.

Since 2020. Over 400 children have learned to code with us.

Does my child need to know anything about coding before starting?

No. Most Kidz Tech students start as complete beginners and begin with Introduction to Computer Science. Children with prior experience get a free assessment so they start at the right level.

What equipment does my child need?

A laptop or computer with a webcam, an external mouse, and a stable internet connection. A headset or earphones is useful for cutting out background noise. All software used in class is free to download, and we guide you through installing it.

Can children outside Nigeria join?

Yes. We teach children of Nigerian parents in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Portugal. Because classes are scheduled individually, we work around your local time zone.

What programming languages will my child learn?

Scratch, Python, HTML and CSS, and the tools used for app development, game development, machine learning and robotics — introduced in a sequence appropriate to your child’s age and level.

How will I know if my child is making progress?

You receive a written progress report every month from your child’s tutor, covering topics taught, strengths, and areas needing more practice.

Do you work with schools?
