A lot of parents who are curious to know what relevant skills they can give their children often ask what is Coding.
To answer this simply, Coding is the process of communicating with the computer. Our communication with the computer can either be to perform a task, create a program or solve a problem. Whatever it may be, communicating with the computer is what is simply referred to as Coding.
When we communicate with the computer, we don’t use human languages, like English, French, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik, or Spanish. We instead use the language of the computer! These languages are what are referred to as Computer Programming languages. We have a host of them just like we do with human languages.
HTML – which stands for Hyper Text Mark Up Language, JavaScript, Java, and Python, (just to mention a few), are the various languages we communicate with the computer.
